The picture of a tropical holiday is often one that is on a beach. While this is an ideal description, there is more to it beyond the elements of sand, sea, and sky. Don’t believe it? Visit Singapore and see for yourself.

Located in Southeast Asia, and about 88 miles just above the equator, Singapore is a tropical island nation that has plenty to offer its visiting tourists. Although this is not a comprehensive list, here are some great places to go to in Singapore:

1. Clarke Quay

If you are a fan of the nightlife, this famous riverside strip is worth stopping by. It is home to the country’s most iconic bars, and music venues, proving to be a stop partygoers as well as lovers of booze and live music must include in their itinerary.

2. Sentosa Island

Located south of the main island, this 500-hectare island resort boasts a wide variety of themed attractions, spas, beaches, hotels — and even a golf course! These include the iconic Sentosa Merlion, Singapore Cable Car, and if you still want to experience that tropical vacation we talked about, the island has three popular beaches — Siloso Beach, Palawan Beach, and Tanjong Beach. There are definitely lots of things to see and do on this island.

3. Orchard Road

A variety of hotels, restaurants, and shops flank the length of this famous tree-lined, one-way boulevard. With all the possible choices lined up over a mile long, shoppers of different tastes and budgets will easily find this as one of the perfect spots to shop, wine and dine.

This list only represents a small percentage of all the possible places where a tourist can go in Singapore. Imagine going there and exploring other places yourself. Visiting Singapore is truly more than your usual tropical holiday.
